Grammar :                                                                              THERE IS / THERE ARE 

1. What does it mean?

We use there is / there are to say that something exists or is present somewhere.

 Singular or plural?

✔ THERE IS → singular

Use it when there is one thing.

• There is a book on the table.

• There is a cat in the garden.

• There is an apple in the bag.

✔ THERE ARE → plural

Use it when there are two or more things.

• There are three books on the table.

• There are two cats in the garden.

• There are many students in the classroom.
