Vocabulary : types of energy sources
These are naturally replenished and less harmful to the environment:
Solar energy – energy from the sun.
Wind energy – energy from the wind using turbines.
Hydropower – energy from flowing water.
Biomass – energy from plants or organic waste.
Geothermal energy – energy from the Earth’s heat.
These are limited and can harm the environment:
Coal – burned to produce electricity.
Oil – used for fuel and heating.
Natural gas – used for heating, cooking, and electricity.
Nuclear energy – produced from splitting atoms (uranium).
💡 Key difference:
Renewable → can be used again and again, eco-friendly.
Non-renewable → limited resources, polluting.
