Adjectives

1. Definition

An adjective is a word that describes or gives more information about a noun (a person, an animal, a thing, or a place).

👉 Example:

• A big dog

• A beautiful city

• A happy child

2. Position of Adjectives

• In English, adjectives usually come before the noun.

  • Example: a red car, a tall boy

• They can also come after the verb "to be" (am, is, are).

  • Example: The car is red. / The boy is tall.

3. Types of Adjectives

• Size: big, small, tall, short

• Color: red, blue, green, yellow

• Feelings: happy, sad, angry, tired

• Qualities: good, bad, beautiful, ugly, smart, lazy

• Quantity: many, few, some, all

• The weather is cold today.
